Sail & Wine is a day cruise in Saint-Tropez, aboard a private boat, chosen according to the group size, taste and client’s budget.
But in this experience, it’s not the boat that plays the leading role.
The true diva of the Sail & Wine Show is Madame Dolce Vita. An atmosphere creator, sommelier and organizer of the experience, accompanied by the captain and his crew — she is the one who makes the difference!
Interview with the woman who combines the elegance of wine and gastronomy with the pleasures of Saint-Tropez and Provençal culture, to whom we asked how she came up with the idea of tastings on the water.
How did the idea come about?
Daria: The Saint-Tropez clientele doesn’t like to leave Saint-Tropez. And I understand! Why leave when everything is here?
The beautiful beaches, parasol pines blending with palm trees, the scent of intoxicating jasmine…
The markets, cafés, luxury boutiques and designers, the kindness and smiles of the shopkeepers… And the parties… parties, then a shower… and another party with friends until morning at the restaurant. Why leave all that?
For those who don’t want to leave Saint-Tropez and its unique atmosphere, Daria brings the best wines of Provence on a boat, to enjoy while gazing at the village bell tower at sunset or on a floating platform in Pampelonne Bay.
Rosés and whites are carefully chosen from pearls of local estates, selected with winemakers and producers throughout the year, and from the many wine fairs she attends, choosing 5 favorites each year: organic, light, refreshing and simply delicious.
She pairs them with aged cheeses and artisanal charcuterie, from producers in the South of France. No need to be an expert to understand these products are exceptional! Good things are simple.
aria: The best wines are often the result of great effort, concentration and family work. These winemakers don’t have the time or mindset to think about aesthetics. It’s like in Burgundy: the best crus often have little tourist appeal. Wine Tourism and exceptional wines can coexist in the same estate, but it’s rare! That’s why I specialize in these confidential crus, off the beaten path, carefully hidden from the French Riviera, accessible only with terroir expertise, from confidential productions absent from tourist routes, whose winemakers don’t seek to receive visitors… and yet, these are the wines you must taste to truly feel the authenticity and typicity of Provence’s terroir.
All this comes together in the enchanting setting of Saint-Tropez, and the magic works instantly in its mythical ports, a little maneuver in front of the Sénéquier quay, or perhaps a trip to Port-Grimaud… the Provençal Venice, where the lights reflect on Pampelonne’s waters, sparkling along La Nartelle at midnight, followed by a lunch or dinner around exceptional products: rare fruits from Madagascar paired with sandy terroir wines and the century-old vines of Fort de Brégançon.
Another aspect of Saint-Tropez, integrated in the organization of this experience: restaurants don’t allow early reservations, but on the Riviera, lunches linger, friends wait to extend them, and plans shift. Daria and her team understood this well, adjusting scheduling with perfectly adapted experiences along the coast. Everything is optimized to respect the client’s program and priorities.
For those who don’t have a whole day to spend on the boat, Daria offers the Sunset Experience, a 4-hour Wine Moment at sea while admiring the sunset. Back on land, the evening can continue!
Daria: Want to surprise your loved one? Come watch the sunset together, just the two of you!
Or perhaps you prefer a champagne selection with a memorable Tropezian aperitif? With Daria, quality, refinement and atmosphere are guaranteed!
Would you like to add a little jet-ski ride, or a more relaxed version adapted to your wishes to create a Dolce Vita tailored to you? I promise I will!
